Itinerary
DAY 1 – LIMA – CUSCO
Arrival in Cusco and warm reception at Cusco Airport. Transfer to your selected hotel. Enjoy a free morning to rest, acclimatize, or explore the surroundings on your own.
At the scheduled time, pick-up from your hotel to begin the guided Cusco City Tour. We will meet at the Plaza de Armas (Main Square) and start our walking tour along Loreto Street, following ancient Inca pathways toward Qoricancha, also known as the Temple of the Sun. Here, you will admire the impressive fusion of Inca stone foundations and colonial architecture.
The tour continues to the upper part of the city, where you will visit the most important archaeological sites surrounding Cusco:
- Sacsayhuaman, an impressive Inca fortress with massive stone blocks
- Qenqo, a ceremonial site with carved altars
- Pucapucara, a former military and administrative complex
- Tambomachay, known as the Inca water temple
After the visits, return to Cusco city.
DAY 2 – SACRED VALLEY – AGUAS CALIENTES
At 8:00 AM, pick-up from your hotel to begin the full-day excursion to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, one of the most fertile and historically significant regions of the Andes.
Our first stop will be the archaeological site of Pisac, where your guide will explain its agricultural terraces, temples, and its strategic importance during the Inca Empire. After the visit, you will have time to explore the traditional Pisac market, famous for its handicrafts and local products.
Next, enjoy a buffet lunch at a local restaurant in the Sacred Valley.
In the afternoon, continue to the impressive fortress of Ollantaytambo, a living Inca town that showcases remarkable stonework, terraces, and ceremonial structures. After the guided visit, you will have free time to explore the town before boarding the train.
Departure aboard the EXPEDITIONS Tourist Train from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes, enjoying scenic views along the Urubamba River.
Arrival in Aguas Calientes and transfer on foot to your selected hotel.
Dinner on your own.
DAY 3 – MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO
Breakfast at the hotel. At the scheduled time, pick-up to board the bus for a scenic ascent to the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu.
Enjoy a 2.5-hour guided tour of this world-famous archaeological site, discovering its temples, plazas, terraces, and palaces while learning about its history, engineering, and spiritual significance. Machu Picchu is considered a masterpiece of Inca architecture and one of the Seven Wonders of the World.
After the guided visit, you will have free time to explore on your own or return to Aguas Calientes.
Lunch on your own.
In the afternoon, depart by tourist train to Ollantaytambo. Upon arrival, transfer by private transportation to your hotel in Cusco.
Dinner on your own.
DAY 4 – CUSCO – LIMA
At the indicated time, transfer to the airport (2 hours before your flight).
